BMT GRADUATION

Visitors are permitted during the seventh
week of training on
Wednesday and Thursday ONLY. Per Joint
Base San Antonio-Lackland
Installation Security Plan,
each trainee may request base passes be issued
to 6 adults age 18 and older. Those 17 and younger
do not need a pass but must stay with a pass or DoD
ID holding adult. Those with DoD ID cards are not
issued a base pass and are not counted in the 6 invited
guests being issued passes.
The following schedule is
subject to change during
holiday weeks. Contact the

- NOTE: All BMT
graduation ceremonies are
held outdoors; therefore,
visiting family members are
urged to use
caution/judgment while
attending outdoor events and
should prepare (i.e. dress
appropriately, drinking
plenty of fluids, use of
sunscreen, etc...) to
withstand varying
temperatures (including
extreme heat/cold/winds) if
attending outdoor
ceremonies.
- Additionally,
your Airman may experience
delays in training due to
unforeseen circumstances.
When making travel
arrangements, suggest you
purchase
refundable/transferable
tickets.
- Service Dogs: Make no bones about it ... we love dogs here at the
37th Training Wing. In fact, we are home to hundreds of dogs at the
Department of Defense Military Working Dog school. However, for the
safety of all those attending graduation, only service dogs that are
trained to work or perform a task for persons with disabilities are
allowed in the Airman's Arena (PRC) and the parade fields during
graduation. Additionally, comfort and/or emotional support animals
are not recognized by the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) as
a service animal, therefore, they are not allowed at the events.

Run, Informational
Briefings, New Spouse Orientation,
and town pass.

Passes are valid and you may enter base at 5:00 A.M.

Pfingston Reception Center Opens 6:00 A.M.

BMT Informational Briefing 6:30 A.M. – 7:10 A.M.

Airman's Run
(7:30am): Cheer the
Airmen as they run by
singing 'jodies'.

BMT Informational Briefing 7:45 A.M. – 8:20 A.M. (Same as 6:30 A.M. briefing)

NEW SPOUSE ORIENTATION (8:30 A.M. – 9:15 A.M.)
Join us for the New Spouse Orientation presentation in the PRC Chief's Room at 8:45 a.m.
- Meet other spouses
- Get informed about available resources
- Ask questions/get answers
Get to the room early as seating can fill up quickly.
*Note: This presentation is for spouses and fiancés of graduates new to the AF Family. Children are welcome.

AIRMAN'S COIN CEREMONY (9:30am)
Flights begin marching onto the Retreat Pad to receive their
Airman's Coin. The ceremony signifies the end of Basic Military Training. The Coin
Ceremony marks the official transition from trainee to Airman.

Town Pass begins at approximately 10:30 A.M.

Following the coin ceremony, graduates are allowed off-base
liberty and must return and be signed into their dorm before 8 p.m. Graduates
must remain in uniform and within the San Antonio Metropolitan
Area inside the 1604 Loop. There are a few exceptions and Airmen
are briefed on these prior to departure.

End of Liberty
(8:00 P.M.): Airmen are due
back in the dormitory
and signed in before 8:00 P.M. Your Airman's
commander or military
training instructor may
impose an earlier return
time.

Thursday: Graduation Parade and Town Pass
Passes are valid and you may enter base at 5:00 A.M.

Pfingston Reception Center Opens 6:00 A.M.
- The Graduation parade is held at the parade grounds located across Military Hwy.
Here are a few things to remember:
- The same parking lots are used for both graduation event days.
- Guests will park in these locations and then walk across Truemper
Street Bridge and or the Pedestrian Walkway (goes over Military Highway) to
reach the parade grounds.
- Handicap parking is available at the reception center for those with a permit.
- There will be bus service for handicapped visitors from the
Pfingston Reception Center to the parade grounds beginning at 7:30 A.M. The bus is limited
to those who are mobile impaired and one escort. The last bus departs at 8:30 A.M.
- Uber/Lyft/Taxis will drop guests off at the
Luke East gate visitors center parking lot or Valley Hi gate visitors center parking lot
(Valley Hi visitors center is not open). Car services are not permitted on the installation.

Graduation Parade
(9:00 A.M.): Watch Airmen
"Pass In Review" and
reaffirm their "Oath of
Enlistment" at the graduation parade;
Airmen are released for town pass and may take photographs by
historical aircraft positioned around the parade field.

Buses depart the parade ground for the reception center,
only for those that are handicapped along with one escort.
The buses will run for approximately 1 hour after the conclusion of events.

Town Pass begins at approximately 10:00 A.M.

End of Liberty 6:00 P.M. Airmen are due back in the
dormitory and signed in before 6:00 P.M.
Schedules are subject to change by the base.
This most often happens when there is a federal holiday
Wednesday or Thursday of graduation week.
